Art Therapy Treats Addiction

It has been proven that drawing and painting encourages creativity and self-expression, reduces stress and explores hidden emotions. The art studio at Castle Craig is situated away from the main treatment clinic, surrounded by beautiful and inspiring rural landscapes.

Our artist in residence, Ingrid Christie, coordinates painting sessions, using an abstract style, which does not require any previous experience and is completely non-judgemental. She teaches patients how to use various painting tools and materials, paints, inks, pastels, crayons, brushes and collage and introduces them to compositions of different classical, as well as modern and contemporary artists.
